About Me

Hi, I'm Charlz a 16-year-old chronic insomniac who loves seeing people smile.
I am just a British-Ghanaian teenager taking her GCSEs and who likes to be addressed with a boy’s name, Charlz. I am a self-confessed geek girl, a sportswoman, cheerleader and competitive dancer. I'm a big, fat or more accurately, tall ball of contradictions.

I've been blogging since 2011 because I found it fascinating that you could own even a tiny part of the web and reach out to people who you'd never meet in real life and on 3 March 2016 it was my 5- year blogiversary. This is my fourth blog and when I started my first some of my friends called me 'Fashionista Baby' which seriously got on my nerves but actually inspired me to keep on blogging (So Thanks Guys!).

Why I Started This Is Charlz... 

My last blog was called Cnique. Cnique is basically Unique with the first 'U' twisted into a 'C'. This is because I can't look the same as anyone else and don't really want to. But I found that it sounded too much like Clinique so you could never find it on search engines, nobody knew how to say it and I kind of lost my blogging spark. So I started thisischarlz as a way of starting fresh after a friend of mine Alex Rooke (alexrooke.com) brought back my blogging sparkle.

Soon the idea expanded and I decided to dedicate this blog to sharing all things beautiful.

About this Blog

This blog is my fourth blog and it's a place where I will celebrate the beauty that is all around us. Showing who inspires me and my friends, shining a light on how people overcome physical, emotional and mental challenges and just beautiful people and things. I'll also post about my everyday life, successes and challenges and try to spread the love that I witness on a daily basis.

Before (Jan 1, 2016), I had a mega complicated philosophy but over the new year I've met some people who have made me realise that, in truth, my goal is to make people happy or impact positively on their lives. I know that I can't make everyone happy, in fact sometimes I do the opposite, but it's a start. So I'm going to keep it simple.

Expect basically anything that makes me smile and/or helps someone out.

Feel free to ask me anything no matter how stupid, depressing or awkward; I don't want to send off an unapproachable vibe here.
