20 1920s Costume Inspiration

I'm going to summer school at Oxford Royale Academy [check them out here] and while there we have two costume parties and for our graduation the theme is the 1920s.

Step back to one of the most glamorous eras of the 20th century!Dance the charleston, pose for a picture in a 20s car and try to grabthe cash in our stock market-themed cash cube. Spend an evening in aGatsby-esque haze of revelry, all against the backdrop of the stunningRandolph Hotel.

I, being me, have never watched the Great Gatsby so I decided to do some research so here's twenty 20s party outfit ideas...

Essentials for Modelling from BNTM

Today I had a BNTM marathon and therefore am now an expert. This is what I learned would consider essential to be a top model...

1. Keep Your Skin Clear

You need to be able to work the camera, with or without make-up. Work it with no makeup just like Queen B.

2. Have a Healthy Diet

Well, not really but a poor diet can cause breakouts, or weight gain or just generally feeling awful.

3. Stay Toned

It's important to stay in shape when a model, sometimes clothes can be unforgiving so staying toned can be important.

4. Show Versatility

The ability to be able to pull off different looks can be very important. It can get you editorial shoots or high fashion shoots letting you get more jobs. Also, no one wants to see the same expression every time so change it up like the Queen.

5. Be Adventurous with your Moves

The larger the variety of positions the more likely it is that you'll get the jobs.

6. Embrace Your Personality

If all else fails, your personality is what can make or break you. Lady Gaga obviously has it in bucketloads.

So if you're planning to go into modelling live a fit and healthy lifestyle and be adventurous with your poses including your face and inject personality and expression into everything and you should ace it.

BNTM, Lazy Days and Pokemon

Sorry for no post yesterday I got hit in the head at the end of PE yesterday and my vision went blurry and kept going really weird. So in my few (many) hours off temporary craziness, I started playing Pokemon Go and was therefore too busy to write a post.

Disclaimer: I'm making this more (I-don't-even-know-what-the-word-is) than it actually was but playing Pokemon was actually quite fun and I looked like a retard but I made some new friends.

I dragged my friend Cat around with me who doesn't know what Pokemon is

How? Well that's still a mystery to me...

And I actually did get hit by all ball at the end of PE though and it hurt like hell...

Today, I had my first Saturday off since maybe February and what would a girl who has the penultimate musical theatre exam next week, you may ask?

Absolutely nothing.

Lie detected actually I watched 3 cycles of Britain's Next Top Model, while pigging out on cheese and crackers, bourbon creams and coconut rings.

Sorry I've been lazy and not written anything of value I just felt bad for not saying hi...

How to Save Your Coursework

If like me you decided to leave 25% of your GCSE to the last three days - wouldn't recommend it by the way - here are some top tips to save your work, especially applicable to History, Geography and Business coursework.

1. Plan. Plan. Plan.
The more intricate your planning, the quicker and easier it will be to write your essay.
I recommend planning, minimum, the main and sub-points in each paragraph. If you're dedicate think about maybe even breaking these down into sentence by sentence without writing the actual essay down by presenting them in bullet points.

2. Research like Hell
Research can make our break your essay. Analyse all the notes the teacher gave you and research more in the library or online to fill in the gaps and insert the information into your plan.

3. Make a Time Schedule
By organising your time, or having a to-do list it stops you from wasting time in the Coursework lesson and helps you make the most of each session.

4. Look Back
Look back over work done previously on how to improve it with the least amount of effort if you don't think it's up to par.

5. Focus on Finishing
You have a goal, a mission, to finish the coursework in the time frame, which must be respected. Having this focus will speed you up in itself.

6. Don't lose it
Stay calm and collected and success is sure to follow

So although, I have left completing my coursework til late (admittedly through fault of my own) my best advice, is to finish it as well and quickly as realistically possibe, without procrastinating.

Hope you do well

Theresa May: The Fashion Icon

Today, in Britain, we just got a new Prime Minister, our 53rd and the 2nd female in British History, Theresa May. And she may be the leader of the conservative party but her fashion sense is anything but reserved. I hope I'm still pushing the fashion boundaries like her when I'm almost 60.

When I saw Theresa May today, I realised that this powerful woman has an seriously awesome sense of style...

First Outfit as Prime Minister

Then I saw this suit that blew my mind. As a rule, I hate flares but man she can pull them off well...

Parliament Chic

Can I wear wellies to school, because I would love these in leopard print...

Wellies to Work

Her outfits look like they've come straight off the catwalk...

Every woman needs a designer coat

And she knows how to dress young, but not too young that it's cringe worthy; I would totally wear this outfit...

And with a woman so fashionable and work-focused, I believe our country will be in good hands...

Ice Cream in the Rain

Hey, I'm Charlz and I've been developing this blog for months but have always been procrastinating with the first post.

But today I was eating ice cream in the rain with a jumper on my head (the British weather is never reliable) on the way to dance [because that's what normal people do] and thought that if I can embarrass myself in a town centre then I can definitely effectively do it online.

So eating ice cream in the rain led me to hear this genius line from Megan (@meganwalker890)....

And that eating ice cream in the rain is the key to mental success...
